  • Iberostar Hotels & Resorts closes the summer season with double-digit growth after a year defined by the evolution of its brand identity into three new segments, the transformation of its hotel portfolio in key destinations, and its continued commitment towards a responsible model of tourism.

  • As the chain enters the last quarter of 2024, further openings and projects will enable continued expansion in new destinations, driving growth while advancing its commitment to the triple bottom line of economic, social, and environmental prosperity.

The end of the summer season at Iberostar Hotels & Resorts has exceeded demand expectations. With double-digit year-on-year growth against all key performance indicators, the hotel chain approaches the start of 2025, with an ambitious expansion plan focused on beachfront locations.

A Year of Transformation for Iberostar Hotels & Resorts

In a year characterized by the transformation and evolution of its holiday proposition, the Mallorcan-based brand has continued to provide quality experiences for its guests, while passionately promoting a model of responsible tourism.

With a new brand identity and segmentation of its hotel portfolio, the chain has categorized its hotels into Iberostar Waves, Iberostar Selection and JOIA by Iberostar, allowing customers to better differentiate the collection according to their experiences and services, in the best beachfront locations.

This evolution has also been accompanied by the renovation and refresh of the chain's hotel portfolio in key destinations. During June and August the company opened Iberostar Selection Creta Marine (Crete, Greece) and Iberostar Waves Gaviotas Park (Fuerteventura, Spain), respectively, following ambitious refurbishments:

  • Iberostar Selection Creta Marine, located in the north of Crete (Greece), has 361 rooms with sea views, designed by Greek architect Marios Ninos. The resort's extensive offer includes exclusive access to three picturesque coves at the foot of the Aegean, sprawling grounds featuring indigenous plant species, and nine restaurants and bars with an enticing variety of fresh, healthy and natural homemade products.

  • Iberostar Waves Gaviotas Park, a true reflection of the new Iberostar Waves segment, is an all-inclusive family resort offering 237 spacious rooms and suites, most of which can accommodate up to five and six people, five outdoor swimming pools, a fully equipped spa, and a wide variety of spaces designed for little ones.

All renovations include the modernization of equipment and installations to enhance efficiency, with training and process integration to further raise standards - a strategy which is being incorporated across the estate. This commitment reinforces the chain's progress on environmental stewardship and aligns with its ambitious sustainability targets.

Joining the portfolio is the five-star Iberostar Selection Eolia Djerba. Located on the northeast coast of the Tunisian island of Djerba, and with direct access to the beach, this hotel features a thalassotherapy center, as well as a wide range of dining options inspired by the flavors of the Mediterranean.

In a season defined by the challenge of attracting talent, the company has progressed significantly in inspiring and training young professionals through its intensive Dual Vocational Training program, having expanded its commitment in Spain from the Canary Islands, to now include Andalucia and the Balearic Islands (Spain) as well as Mexico.

This year has been challenging, but inspiring and rewarding. The positive results from the summer season affirm our belief that our efforts to refresh and segment our portfolio have provided a strong foundation for future growth. As we look forward to 2025, we remain committed to the creation of memorable experiences for our guests through a differentiated product offer, whilst striving to leave a responsible lasting legacy within the destinations we serve

New Openings 2024/25

As Iberostar approaches the final quarter of 2024, the company is excited to enter new countries and locations, focusing on beachfront destinations as JOIA Aruba by Iberostar - a five-star paradise with 240 suites thoughtfully designed to offer all guests the breathtaking views of Eagle Beach, one of the world’s most beautiful beaches in the world. Scheduled to open in December, it will become the first hotel of Iberostar in Aruba.

Furthermore, in April 2025, Iberostar will enhance its presence in Spain and Tunisia with the launch of the new five-star Iberostar Selection Es Trenc (Mallorca, Spain) and five-star Iberostar Selection Mirage Hammamet (Tunisia):

  • Iberostar Selection Es Trenc will become the 16th property for the brand on the island, consolidating Iberostar's commitment to quality and exceptional guest service on its home turf - where the brand began. Located in Colonia de Sant Jordi, the hotel will welcome guests following an ambitious renovation of an existing site upgrading its facilities, infrastructure, and services.

  • Fully renovated, Iberostar Selection Mirage Hammamet will become Iberostar’s 8th hotel in Tunisia. Located close to the center of the town of Hammamet, this hotel has 271 rooms -most of them bungalows- with sea views and a very wide beach of fine sand.
