Mexico, November 4, 2025 – Iberostar Hotels & Resorts announces the opening of Iberostar Selection Riviera Cancun, a five-star all-inclusive resort located in the Riviera Maya, just 20 minutes from Cancun International Airport and near the fishing village of Puerto Morelos. The property joined Iberostar’s portfolio as of November 1, reinforcing the company’s strong commitment to the country, where it now operates 12 hotels.

Iberostar Selection Riviera Cancun features 444 spacious suites, all equipped with a jacuzzi. Accommodation options include family rooms, swim-up suites with direct access to semi-private pools, and oceanfront suites.

The resort’s culinary offering stands out for its variety and Caribbean influence. In addition to an international buffet restaurant and a wood-fired pizzeria, guests will find four specialty restaurants: L’Oliveto, offering Italian cuisine; Nopal, serving signature Mexican dishes; a Caribbean restaurant featuring seafood and local recipes; and Martinete, with Spanish culinary specialties. These are complemented by six bars—including three swim-up bars—and a Star Café.

Operating under the Iberostar Selection category, the resort is designed for both couples and families—combining superior service with a relaxed atmosphere. In addition to its privileged beachfront location on the Caribbean Sea, the resort is the perfect starting point for exploring the area’s natural attractions, such as the Great Mayan Reef and the Route of the Cenotes.

Commitment to the Destination: Caring for People and the Environment

With this opening, Iberostar reaffirms its commitment to Mexico as a key destination in its strategy for selective expansion—both in new markets and in those where it already operates. With the addition of Iberostar Selection Riviera Cancun, the company reaches 4,400 rooms in the country and employs more than 5,800 professionals. It is estimated that the new resort will generate around 650 jobs, contributing positively to the region’s economic development.

As part of Iberostar’s commitment to caring for people and promoting a responsible tourism model, the company implemented an intensive training program during September and October for all staff members at the resort. This initiative includes an introduction to the brand’s philosophy and values, along with specialized training across all operational areas.

Iberostar Selection Riviera Cancun will also embody the company’s commitment to responsible tourism, integrating the principles of the Iberostar Wave of Change movement. The resort will operate without single-use plastics in the guest experience, feature purified drinking water stations, and offer responsibly sourced seafood. In addition, a 3R Team will oversee waste sorting and categorization, supporting the company’s goal of sending zero waste to landfill.
