In the search for continual improvement in user experience and efficiency, Iberostar has found Robotic Process Automation (RPA) to be an exceptional ally. RPA implementation has brought countless benefits that have boosted its growth exponentially during the past 2 years.
Before speaking about its benefits, it is important to understand what this technology means. RPA is a form of automation that uses software and algorithms to do repetitive, routine tasks, imitating human interaction with IT systems. These “robots,” or as we like to call them at Iberostar, “Digital Employees,” can perform tasks such as collecting and processing data, sending emails, booking charts and management, and more, all without human involvement.
One of the main benefits of RPA is process optimization. Tasks that usually require hours of manual work can now be completed in a matter of minutes and more frequently by digital employees. This is all done with greater accuracy by eliminating human error, since RPA provides almost perfect accuracy and precision.
With RPA, we manage to integrate several systems coherently with greater adaptability, eliminating the need to carry out specific and more expensive improvements or to intervene manually to transfer data from one system to another. A clear example we recently set in motion is automating the registration of staff in the payroll system at hotels.
Staff can therefore focus on more strategic tasks with higher value. This not only improves efficiency but also increases employee satisfaction, as employees feel more motivated in their day-to-day.
For all of this to be accomplished successfully, change management must be carefully planned and executed, since it is important for employees to realize this technology will complement and help them in their work rather than replace them. That’s why we are applying work methodologies to help make this transition to a new way of thinking as seamless as possible.
There is no doubt that RPA will continue playing a fundamental role at Iberostar. By addressing these aspects, the organization will be prepared to take advantage of the benefits process automation can offer to the fullest and undergo a successful transition to a more efficient and competitive future.
Those who adopt this technology looking toward the future will be better positioned to face notable future challenges.
