• The Mallorcan hotel chain achieves the highest recognition from the Spanish publishing group for the best strategy supporting the environment and oceans in the category of 'Environmental Sustainability

 

Iberostar Group, an international reference for its responsible tourism model, has been awarded the Vocento Business Awards in the category of 'Environmental Sustainability' for its exemplary and pioneering Wave of Change movement within the industry. This award, presented by the Vocento group, acknowledges Iberostar's work in promoting responsible tourism, focused on caring for both people and the environment. It highlights the hotel chain's dedication to the oceans, respect for the environment, and its efforts to share these values with society at large.

 

Doris Casares, Global Director of Communications and Public Affairs at Iberostar Group, who accepted the award on behalf of the company, expressed gratitude to the publishing group for this significant recognition, and explained that it would serve as strong motivation for teams across the company.

The pioneering Wave of Change movement, established in 2017, drives Iberostar's ambitious Agenda 2030, aiming to eliminate waste sent to landfill by 2025, ensure 100% responsibly sourced seafood by 2025, achieve carbon neutrality by 2030, and enhance the health of ecosystems surrounding its hotels. The awards ceremony, held in Madrid on the evening of Thursday, November 16, saw the presence of journalists and editors from the Vocento group, communication directors, and representatives from companies across each of the 14 categories. These awarded companies were recognized for their increasing role and contributions in addressing the challenges faced by society.
